April Board Meeting

The April board meeting was filled with lots of student and staff recognition.  

AHS Foreign Exchange Students were recognized as Honorary Ardmore Tigers. Countries represented were: Korea, Spain, Thailand, Serbia, Brazil, Belgium, Slovakia, Italy, Germany, Switzerland & China. AHS Principal Jake Falvey talked about the Foreign Exchange Student program and what an asset it is to have these student at AHS each year.

The “ACT” was recognized for their state competition results.

Mr. Fred Collins introduced Riley Dobson and spoke about Riley being accepted to the Quartz Mountain Institute for the Fine Arts in Acting – Summer of 2015. It’s a great opportunity and Riley was one of 18 students from Oklahoma selected.

Lincoln Elementary, Great Expectations Model School for 7th Year in row!

Lincoln Elementary teacher, Kara Scifres, has been named an AVID Staff Developer for the AVID Summer Institute. There were 900 applicants and we are very proud that she was chosen to represent Ardmore City Schools. She will be headed off for some specialized training in the next few days.


Chandra Arnold, Charles Evans counselor performed the Heimlich on a choking student. She discussed the experience and credited the student with knowing what to do.
